Today in my yoga class I was given a stone from Whitehouse Beach near Wivenhoe. It was to represent the seed of my intention for the year ahead.
A small, unremarkable stone shaped by the waters of the river Colne and its estuarial mud. It made me feel a little bit more determined and a little bit more focused. Let it be the grit to my oyster - the irritant to my tender flesh. Let this small pebble grow my practise and encourage ideas and intentions to form around it. I keep it in my pocket to remind me not to drift with the tide.
