A Banditry of Tits

January 17, 2018

A 'banditry' of tits - on the peanuts this morning. Was inspired to spend a happy few minutes looking up collective nouns: an ascension of larks, an aurora of polar bears, an ostentation of peacocks, a barful of detectorists (my favourite). And sad ones; an abandonment of orphans.

The wind has scoured the sky clean today - it is shining and blue, and the sun picks out every bone-white branch of the silver birch at the bottom of my garden.

It makes me happy to know that blue-tits exist in the world - tiny flurries of inquisitiveness - feathered perfection.
